As a youngster every bank holiday was the only time we we're all together as a family. Dad would have the day off from work and we would go to the local fun fair. I loved the noise, colours and smells of candy floss, burgers etc. These were fun days as sometimes our neighbours would join in and there would be a big group of us adults and children, running and laughing, taking the mickey out of each other but it was a real feeling of freedom. No worries. No cares.
As an adult I would work every bank holiday because the hospital was quieter even though the unit was not but it again was a good time to work. x

What a brilliant memory of the fun fair. These places had a magic about them and probably still do for children today. The smells and sounds still ring in my ears today, thats to you sharing your memory.
